April 27th - 29th, 2012
14th Annual Event
GiG Logo
Greyhounds from the North and South converge on Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

GiG starts in 83 day(s).

And let's not forget that greyhounds from east and west join the invasion.  It is an invasion that is welcomed by the citizens of this historic town.
On behalf of the greyhounds of the North, South, East and West, we would like to invite you to join us on the last full weekend in April in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

Two and a half days of activities are planned beginning at noon on Friday and running to noon on Sunday.  Approximately 40 vendors will join us on Friday and Saturday to sell greyhound related merchandise.  Special activities for the whole family run thoughout the day and into the night.

When you are not participating in greyhound related activities, you have all of historic Gettysburg and surrounding countryside open to you.  Gettysburg was the pivotal battle in the Civil War.  You can visit the battlefield, museums and the historic town to discover more about this historic battle and the men that fought here.
This Year's Special Raffle

We are very lucky.  For a second year, we are pleased to be able to offer a special raffle of a commissioned piece of artwork produced Kathy Hoynes-Goree of Greyhound Studies.  This year's artwork will be a scene with a soldier, child and greyhound.  The artwork will be approximately 18x24 watercolor.  Comparable pieces of artwork are commissioned by Kathy for $250.
Kathy is still in the planning stage so some aspects of the artwork may change.  Here is a snapshot showing progress of work on the piece.

Is the event free?

Children under 16 may attend for free when accompanied by a paying adult.  An attendee fee is required of all attendees 16 years or older.  The funds raised by your registration support the Triangle Greyhound Society.  This may be a tax deductible donation.  For more reasons why you should register, please check out our page on reasons to register.
