Sign up for the Costume Contest will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the site where it is to be held. Only one category per contestant will be allowed. Sign up will close at 11:45 a.m. and Judging to begin at Noon. Sign up will be by your first and last name to be called into the judging ring.
There will be designated areas for "on deck," the judging ring, and "1st place winners" for later competition for Best in Show. These areas are not to be used for the audience. The designated areas will be roped off with neon orange plastic and are not to be moved. Signs designating the use of each area will be affixed to the folding chairs used to rope off said areas. There will be an exit area from the judging ring, please do not block this area.
Upon signing up, you will receive a judging number with a safety pin to display on either the dog(s) and/or handler. Pin your class judging number in an obvious place for the judges. Judging will be on an individual basis. Winners of each class will be announced at the end, beginning with 4th, 3rd, 2nd, and 1st.
Awards for each class will be given upon completion of each class judging. The 1st place winners of each class will then be called into the judging ring for Best in Show competition and Best in Show awarded at that time.
Judging will begin with: Funniest, then Civil War Theme, then Most Creative, and finishing with Most Patriotic.
